Introduce Yourself

Ok, so we are getting a few registered users now. Thought it be good to introduce why we're here and where we can contribute.

So, I'm Wolffy and I do mainly backend scripting - no GUI's or anything like that. I am trying to release a lot of HOWTOs and small demos, for using BIS functions and modules.

From a campaign perspective, I don't have that many ideas for missions, etc - but thats the purpose of this website, is to get people who do introduced to those that can make it happen.

The only thing I ask is, its a best effort project so complete respect shown between members at all times.

Re: Introduce Yourself

Odin here, I basicly am a scripter of sorts, and a Mission maker at heart, not as good as some but wont cede until I win :), I have yet to play much with the ARMA2 islands but am sure with a few more weeks I will have some ideas. Was a member of a Campaign making unit in Arma1, so I am no stranger to being told "man that just aint what we want", SavedByGrace was a hard man to please, but a great voice actor.

I have a few contacts that might be intrested in voice acting (SavedByGrace, Loki, DeanosBeanos) all yanks but great voices.

I will gladly accept anything thrown my way, and soon as I have a chance to look at the new game a bit more I will add a few aswell.

Re: Introduce Yourself

Heya, Been playing Arma since it came out Im in the VMA clan in NZ but play in a lot of clans as VMA isnt the most active clan, plus its more fun playing with a whole bunch of different players that are into the realisim side of things. I cant make missions or anything like that but im a bloody good tester when it comes to missions and mods, Infact i get a lot of people asking me "is this mod good, should i download that mod" etc because thats pretty much all i do in Arma2 right now it play around with mods .

Im very keen on realistic gameplay though, so this is probably the place for me...

Re: Introduce Yourself

hey all tama here,

Ordeal said in his post that he is here for the realism game play. i too am here for the same reasons. i don't code either I am actually more of a code blocker but I do like training sessions and allowing individuals an opportunity to grow in understanding, whatever there chosen game.

I had my own clan for a number of years in MOHAA and really enjoyed taking a bunch of mates and actually working them into an organised tough unit that could think fast and act effectively.

I will love to see what maps and tactics are implemented here and look forward to giving fire support to each of you in game

Re: Introduce Yourself

Well, Kebab here,

Only got into ARMA 2 when it came out and have huge interest in the realism and section tactics side of things. Also very keen on flying. Looking to learn tops and trick off people and can show ya some if you want.

On the Map making side of things i am not a scripter or maker but have a huge interest in the creation of interesting and motivating backstory and objectives. Missions shouldn't be "Go there, kill That".

Other then that i have an interest in the storyboard or sub storyboard area, being the organisation of a timeline of events and how these can be represented and created into maps in the campaign, of course mixed with a backstory that leads the campaign to make follow a logical course of events.

Happy to help any time, just gimme a yell on Vent / TS or ping me a PM.

P.S. Good RL mates with Abize, so expect him to be dragged here soon. ;)

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hey guys, well i have about 9 years experience in the NZDFand spent 5 of those years in the infantry. What I can bring to the table is first hand knowledge of tactics and  SOP's. i understand that this being a game there are areas that need adapting and modifying to make the experience flow better and work better. To many times I have experienced or heard of hour long briefings before jumping into a chopper or hummer to walk around to have nothing happen - best way to never see people turn up to play again. So what I will try and do is help create a fun and challenging environment for us to run around in - where needed by the head office that is. :)

Re: Introduce Yourself

G'day I'm Abize

I got into ArmA shortly after Kebab did. I'm into the tactical side of ArmA, I like the small team/squad op's which are more interesting to be apart of than a platoon size free-for-all. I don't like leadership roles, I prefer to just be the grunt with orders. I am always up to be apart of a fire-support team or a apart of a vehicle crew (just dont ask me to fly anything XD).

I am not a good mapper or scripter but I always like testing for people. I am interested in the writing of  Briefs or background information for missions.

Ive got Vent, teamspeak, mumble, xfire (add mfkfangz) if ya want to drop in and have a chat.

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hi I'm A6 I met many of these guys during Operation Reality and kept touch with ever since. I got into mission making in early 2007 to build missions for my clan VMA. I made a fair few missions but never released any publically. I can implement pretty much any script. I can't write them but can read them if that makes any sense. Knew about this site from its conception but never signed up until recently. Hopefully what ever we are working on here will help the community which I'm sure it will.
